Teaching Philosophy

Music provides a unique and creative outlet for self expression and connecting with others. One needs patience, commitment, inspiration, discipline, desire, and motivation to acquire proficiency on any instrument.

My goal as an educator is to guide students to become their own teacher. To provide them with the tools and awareness needed to become successful independent learners. To instill in them a sense of confidence, motivation, passion, drive and curiosity. Every student is unique, and I approach them accordingly. I encourage students to contribute during lessons, to help them become thoughtful learners and to develop their own musical voice. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels, and believe my education and experience allows me to do so successfully.
